Scrap Metal Dumpster Rental in Lexington, KY

A dedicated dumpster for your scrap metal. We handle hauling and recycling, then send you a check.

Recover Value From Your Project’s Scrap Metal

Recover recyclable metal from your demolition or property cleanup project to keep it out of the landfill and put money back into your job.

When scrap metal goes into a mixed construction load, you pay to dispose of its weight. Separating it gives that material a different path: recovery and recycling, with proceeds that can help offset project costs.

Your crew collects the metal in a dedicated dumpster. We handle pickup, hauling, and settlement with the recycler, then send you a check for your share. The dumpster’s contractor base charge still applies.

Clear Pricing & Your Recycling Payout

You pay the contractor base rate for the dumpster and receive 75% of the recycler’s payment for your metal.

We handle hauling, recycling, and settlement.

For example, if the recycler pays $1,000 for your load, you receive a $750 check and Rubble Jockey retains $250. The dumpster’s contractor base charge is separate.

Your payout depends on the material’s weight, classification, and the recycler’s purchase price.

What Can Go in Your Metal Dumpster?

Your scrap metal dumpster is for recyclable metal only, with material acceptance confirmed before delivery.

Tell us what your project will generate and whether the metal has attached wood, plastic, insulation, or other materials. Photos can help us confirm acceptance before you start loading.

Recyclers do not accept general trash or construction debris in scrap metal loads. Please keep these materials separate. If a load is rejected for contamination, we can haul it for disposal as regular construction debris, provided all contents are accepted by the disposal facility. Current disposal tonnage rates will apply.

For tanks, sealed containers, equipment containing fluids, or refrigerant appliances, call or text before loading so we can confirm acceptance and preparation requirements.

Placement, Loading & Pickup

We coordinate scrap metal dumpster placement and exchanges around your loading area, truck access, and project schedule.

Let us know where the metal will be generated and your preferred container location. Where truck access and ground conditions allow, we can position the dumpster close to the work to reduce unnecessary handling of sharp, heavy, or awkward scrap. We’ll discuss access restrictions and any surfaces you want protected before delivery.

Please keep material below the rim to maintain clearance during transport. Position long or bulky pieces so they’re supported inside the container rather than resting on the rear door or its top edge. This helps us open the door safely without material shifting or falling when it’s released.

Scrap metal loads are limited to 15 tons per load. Our typical 20-yard metal loads weigh approximately 3–8 tons. If you’re collecting exceptionally heavy, dense metal, let us know so we can plan accordingly.

For multiple dumpsters or scheduled exchanges, share your anticipated needs so we can plan availability. Call or text when you’re ready for pickup or need an earlier exchange.

Recycling Records & Payment

Your recycling ticket shows the material’s weight, classification, and purchase rate, so you can see how your payout was calculated.

Keeping similar metals together—such as a load of aluminum or a consistent grade of steel—can help the recycler classify and price the material more favorably than a mixed load. Tell us what you’re collecting, and we’ll discuss separation before delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Find answers about scrap metal dumpster pricing, material separation, loading limits, and recycling payouts.

How much does a scrap metal dumpster cost?

You pay the applicable contractor base rate for the dumpster and receive 75% of the recycler’s payment for your metal. Rubble Jockey retains 25% of the recycling proceeds. Any delivery charge is confirmed before scheduling.

Can different metals go in the same dumpster?

Tell us which metals you’re collecting before delivery so we can confirm the arrangement. Keeping similar metals together can help preserve their recycling value. Mixed loads may receive a lower classification or purchase rate from the recycler.

What happens if construction debris or trash gets mixed into the load?

Contamination can cause the recycler to reject the load. We may then need to handle it as construction debris, with current disposal tonnage charges applying. Please keep trash separate and contact us about metal with attached nonmetal materials before loading.

What size dumpsters are available, and how much weight can they hold?

We offer 10–30-yard scrap metal dumpsters, with loads limited to 15 tons. Our typical 20-yard metal loads weigh approximately 3–8 tons. Tell us about exceptionally dense or heavy material so we can recommend a suitable container and loading plan.

Can you provide multiple dumpsters or recurring exchanges?

Yes, subject to availability. Share your anticipated volume and schedule so we can coordinate containers and exchanges around your operation. Call or text if you need an earlier pickup.

How is my recycling payout documented, and when do I receive it?

The recycling ticket shows the material’s weight, classification, and purchase rate. We provide a settlement breakdown and send your check once payment from the recycler is received. We’ll explain the expected timing before service begins.
